The captive portal, the system to allow only paid-up subscribers to login to use the Internet, has been changed so as to be more robust. You will now be asked to re-login once a week.

The bandwidth shaping we use to prevent those using peer2peer software from consuming too much of the Internet access, had been set to allow peer2peer a proportion of the 7Mb/s Internet bandwidth we used to have. But currently our Internet service provider is capping us at 1Mb/s. Thus the ratio we give to peer2peer has been set too high. It's now been lowered.
This may improve the speed of the Internet for other software such as web and email, and lower it for peer2peer software.
How much difference this will actually make is debatable, as many peer2peer programs masquerade their downloading/uploading as web traffic.
